Justin Wallace : Teaching Pastor

I grew up in Southern Indiana. My roots are in a small country church off the beaten path. I grew up knowing the in's and out's of the church. But it wasn't until my senior year in high school that I knew I was being called into ministry. I was on a mission trip in Mexico, destined to be an engineering student at Purdue University when God made it clear that He had a different plan for me. From there, I went to Anderson University where I studied Christian Ministries and Bible. I did two internships in youth ministry while I was at Anderson. I led worship, preached, led small groups, took kids on trips, anything to get my feet wet. After I graduated I spent two years learning that it's not about ministry, it's about an intimate relationship with Jesus. I learned that it wasn't about what I could accomplish but what God wanted to accomplish in me and through me. I began to believe Jesus when he said in John 15:4, "Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

In 2004, God called Nicole (my wife of 5 years) and I to Charlotte, NC to start a church of college students. He made it clear that there was something missing at UNCC and he wanted to use us to fill that void. So, we obeyed and 4 years later we look around and see so many stories of life-change. Nicole and I now have a son, Marcus, and are so amazed at how God continues to show us how good and faithful He is. We are committed to sacrifice anything to see the Kingdom of God become a reality on the campus of UNCC and in the city of Charlotte.

Nathan Evans : Staff Leader and Discipleship Coordinator

Who am I? I was born in the Midwest (those are the States we grow corn in…) in 1980, more specifically in Findlay, Ohio. I’ve known my beautiful wife since we were in youth group together in middle school, but I couldn’t talk her into dating me until college even though I tried many, many times (true story…).

I never wanted to be in the ministry, but as usual God had different ideas. For a while I thought I was going to be a professional counselor, and I even have 60% of a Masters degree to prove it! Late in 2004 God convinced me to give up and follow His plan for me and a year later (and 98 days after we got married…) Emily and I moved to Charlotte two days after Christmas in 2005.

I do a lot of stuff here at Impact, most of it behind the scenes. I like to do the stuff that nobody else thinks to do. My official role here is Staff Leader and Discipleship Coordinator. In ‘real people’ terms that means I spend a lot of time talking to people and helping them learn to trust Jesus more and to live it out!

Josh Edney : Finance Director

What's up! I'm Josh Edney and I'm the Financial Director for Impact Charlotte. I'm from Tryon, NC and came to Charlotte to attend college. I graduated from Charlotte in May 2007 with a Finance degree. I was also one of the first two graduates from Impact Charlotte! I began attending Impact my Junior year. After I graduated, I began as an intern with Impact and in June 2008, I became the fourth full-time staff member. My role is managing our money and discipling college guys!

Sports seem to be the starting point for a lot of conversations with college guys. I’m a very passionate Redskins fan! And I’ll be the biggest fan when Charlotte gets awarded a Major League Baseball team. I’m proud to be an alumni and I’m a devout Charlotte 49ers fan! I also enjoy playing golf and DJ’ing.

I love my job here in Charlotte! This community is filled with enthusiastic Jesus following students who are striving to connect with others and change lives. I think God looks down and smiles up on His ministry in Charlotte.
