Ron Lindig : InternMost of my life was spent running away from God. When I was young I lived with drug-dealer parents, and after the inevitable collapse of my close family, my very religious grandparents adopted me. For a long time I blamed God for my lack of traditional family, but God never gave up on me.
By the time I began attending classes at UNC Charlotte I had reached my lowest spiritual point, but a friend constantly reminded me of God and kept inviting me to attend Impact. Finally, I agreed, and God used Impact to change my life. I have been involved with Impact as a student for two years, and now I have the privilege to work as an intern and help college students connect with God and with others.

I'm from a tiny little town in Indiana called Cayuga (Kay-you-guh... for future reference). When I was nine years old I decided that I wanted to go into the ministry. Over the years the TYPE of ministry changed but I kept saying I wanted to be a minister. At the end of high school I finally decided that I wanted to be a youth minister and went to Lincoln Christian College to pursue that goal. After being there for a semester I decided that wasn't exactly my cup of tea and I switched to worship ministry. After being in this for a few years I started feeling like I wasn't exactly sure what I would do with this degree once I left school. I started thinking back on my experiences and remembered when my brother was in college and the campus ministry he was involved in at Indiana State University. My brother was an elementary education major and the ministry had such an impact on him that he decided he wanted to be a youth minister and that's exactly what he did when he graduated.
Seeing how that ministry affected my brother, I decided that I wanted to go into campus ministry. Now that the decision was made, I had no idea how to go about that. After a while I got connected with Justin and Impact ministries and later decided that I wanted to come down to North Carolina and do an internship with Impact Ministries. I packed up pretty much my entire life, loaded everything into a trailer, drove 742 LOOOOOOONG miles and here I am!
